Client Case Study: Natalie Mackenzie

Natalie Mackenzie is a brain injury expert and cognitive rehab therapist. Since being a client of Jenna Farmer PR , Natalie has secured over 100 pieces of media coverage and written for a variety of publications. As Natalie’s business focus has evolved and shifted, the PR focus has adapted accordingly, gaining coverage in a range of formats: sharing expert commentary and insight on topics such as brain injury and trauma, cognitive decline, memory, and cognition to ensure the outcome is a high-quality media profile showcasing an industry-leading expert in brain cognition.

Natalie’s media coverage started confidently, showcasing her expertise and tips on all things brain health for a range of audiences in her expert articles. Highlights include an Metro article giving tips for brain health in your 30s, sharing factors that affect the mind as we age in The iPaper, and advice for a sharp memory in The Express. Expert comments in top-tier publications has also been central, with commentary on the science of learning in The Financial Times , beating the January gloom in The Independent and wellness tips shared in Stylist Magazine.

As well as providing expert commentary for the general readership, another successful angle (mirroring Natalie’s evolving business model) was as a brain cognition expert for business owners. Notable coverage was gained in two articles in Start Ups Magazine, an article in Business Quarter, and a review of cognition assessment featured in The Times and The Guardian.

Reacting to relevant current affairs has been an effective strategy, including: a BBC Radio London Interview, after a new study was published on brain injury and antidepressants and four National Papers (Daily Express, Sky News, Telegraph and the Independent) used an expert quote from Natalie addressing concussion following Princess Anne’s horse riding injury.

Natalie’s business personal story has also been an area of focus, being profiled as part of the spotlight feature of Dynamic Magazine and an interview in Entrepreneur Magazine.
